CRCP considers trade as a
key area in view of its significant impact on economic growth, poverty
reduction and consumer protection. Realizing that consumers are ultimate
beneficiary of trade, our goal is to articulate their interests and
rights in the emerging trade liberalization regime and free market
economy through fostering cooperation and linkages between the supply
and demand sides.
"Market and Corporate Practices" is one of our five core program areas
that pursues interdisciplinary research, sectoral analysis, policy
advocacy, awareness raising and capacity building of key stakeholders.
CRCP has proven track record of engaging parliamentarians and public
representatives as an integral part of policy advocacy.
We work in four thematic areas, namely competition and regulation
regimes, trade liberalization, quality and standards, and transparency
and accountability. Within theses broad themes, our focus rests on key
services and products across by Maxwell/department for international
Development (DFID). Action Aid Pakistan, European Union, and The Asia
Foundation. In addition to donor funded initiatives, CRCP consistently
engages in awareness and advocacy on trade-related issue as a part of
its ongoing public campaigns on quality standards, consumer protection
legislation and freedom of information. CRCP has networked on
trade-related with regional organization including CUTS and
Consumer-Voice, India.
