CRCP organizes workshops to train members of various target groups in issues which relate to consumer protection. Target groups generally include journalists, members of consumer groups, civil rights activists, representatives of civil society organizations, lawyers and students of law, and teachers, etc. Training areas broadly include: consumer rights, consumer responsibilities, consumer related laws in Pakistan, freedom of information, quality standards, safe drinking water, safety and home appliance usage, public services, natural monopolies and regulatory bodies, sanitation, hygiene, nutrition, etc. Training is imparted in an interactive manner and an effort is made to relate to the local conditions of the target community. In 2000, CRCP organized four training workshops in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala and Hafizabad for journalists and it was exclusively focused on issues related to regulatory laws with special reference to consumer concerns in Pakistan. Its aim was to sensitize the journalists and media persons to the issues related to regulation of public services like power, telecommunication, etc. Similarly, one training workshop was arranged for the lawyers in Islamabad to train and educate them on issues related to consumer protection. Moreover, one training workshop on "Women as Consumers" was specifically organized in Islamabad/Rawalpindi for the womekukn, in which their rights and responsibilities were highlighted, since they do most of the purchasing for home.

The publication of the Resource Kit for Consumer Organizations received a very heartening response from a number of big and small organizations all over the country, including those in the remotest and the far-flung areas. However, a majority of them demanded for its translation into the national language. Therefore, the CRCP decided to publish an Urdu translation of the resource kit to enhance its outreach so that more and more local groups and organizations could benefit from it, and pursue the cause of consumer protection in their own locales. The Urdu version of the resource kit is simpler and more convenient than the previous version in meaning, contents and scheme. Download pdf format
